The College of Community Health Sciences welcomes University of Alabama undergraduates enrolled in the Community and Rural Medicine courses. In additon, CCHS accepts third and fourth year medical students from the University of Alabama's School of Medicine for their clinical years. One of the oldest family medicine residency programs in the southeast, the Family Medicine Residency also welcomes its Residents into its three-year program every summer.
For the medical community in this area, CCHS regularly offers CME events. Patients, healthcare professionals as well as other professionals are welcomed to take advantage of the Health Sciences Library, which boasts access to 1000's of biomedical journals as well as many other resources.
