Bama Sports Room
(Specialty Exam/Treatment Rm)

The mural in this exam room is dedicated to the children of pediatric faculty and staff who have played various sports for the University of Alabama.

Castle Room
(Isolation Exam Room)

This magical painting of a fairytale castle almost brings fantasy to life.

Dinosaur Room

This room filled with dinosaurs is just what the doctor ordered and a favorite of many a little boy.

Dolphin Room

This beautiful mural is so realistic the water bubbles look as if they would leave your finger wet when touched.

Jungle Room

This jungle scene is so picture perfect with it's illuminating effects, you can see the sunlight shining through the trees.

Sailboat Room

The sailboats in this calming scene are named for the children of a pediatric department faculty member.

Rocket Room

The rocket being launched from this exam room is a favorite of all our space enthusiasts.

Train Room

The train in this exam room is appropriately named the Bama Express and operates through K&B Railroads, which is named for one of the pediatricians.

Space Room

One's imagination has to kick into high gear when gazing into space at the planets in this exam room.

Whale Room

Another beautiful underwater scene which quickly erupted into a favorite.

The Pediatric Department is proud to showcase the art work in the murals in all the examination rooms, as well as the hallways which are covered with hot air balloons.  The murals are intended to encourage and support imagination.

Stephen Ardovino, a self-taught painter, of Birmingham, AL was brought in to paint the murals in the Pediatric Department.  It took Ardovino a little more than a day to paint each exam room and about two weeks to paint the balloon scenes in the hallways.
