Stephen Roberts, DO, RPh, MT, is a physician at the Student Health Center in the College of Community Health Sciences. Prior to joined The University of Alabama, Dr. Roberts served as a flight surgeon during three combat deployments in Iraq and Afghanistan. He is an active Army National Guard and disaster response surgeon.
He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences and completed his residency in family practice at the University of Alabama College of Medicine, Tuscaloosa. Roberts is a registered pharmacist, earning his degree from the Samford University College of Pharmacy, and a massage therapist. Additionally, he has special training in osteopathic manipulation, office orthopedics and sports medicine and wilderness and disaster medicine. He is board certified in Family Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Therapy.
Roberts’ professional interests include musculoskeletal disorders, military medicine, adventure/travel medicine, family medicine and urgent care/emergency medicine. He enjoys competing in martial arts and triathlons, having twice competed in the Hawaii Ironman Triathlon World Championship and enjoys farming, hiking and hunting.
