The College of Community Health Sciences welcomed three new fellows to its Sports Medicine Fellowship for Family Medicine Physicians – Drs. Grant Collins, Cameron Hurlock and Robert Jones. They began their fellowships in July.
The fellowship provides education and training in sports medicine to family medicine physicians. Fellows care for patients at the Dr. Bill deShazo Sports Medicine Center at University Medical Center in Tuscaloosa, which the College operates. Fellows also care for University of Alabama athletes and provide sports medicine coverage at UA and at local high school and community sporting events.
Collins received his medical degree from the University of Arizona College of Medicine in Tuscon and completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix Internal Medicine Residency Program at Banner Desert Medical Center.
Hurlock received his medical degree from the Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine at Midwestern University in Glendale and completed his family medicine residency at the University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria Family Medicine Residency Program.
Jones received his medical degree from the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Auburn, Ala., and completed his emergency medicine residency at the Trident Emergency Medicine Program in Charleston, S.C.
