Lilanta Bradley, PhD — Assistant Professor

Dr. Lilanta Joy Bradley is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Community Medicine and Population Health at The University of Alabama (UA). This Atlanta, GA native completed her doctorate in Health Promotion and Behavior from the University of Georgia, with a certificate in Interdisciplinary Qualitative Studies. She also has a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Louisiana at Monroe. She represents UA sites All of Us Research Program team as the Community Engagement Lead to educate and promote awareness on the importance of participating in biomedical research, especially in historically underrepresented populations. Her work as an Activist-Scholar includes serving as Chair of the Region II Perinatal Mortality Review, member of the March of Dimes Mom and Baby Action Network: Dismantling Racism Workgroup, and Board Member of The Reproductive Outreach and Education Center (ROE Center). She currently co-leads a maternal health study with Black women at the University Medical Center. She is training to become a certified Community Doula with the CommonSense Childbirth Training Institute. Dr. Bradley has a Health Disparities Research Education Certificate from UAB as a 2019-2020 RCMAR Scientist. Dr. Bradley is also a proud member of the sixth cohort of RWJF’s Interdisciplinary Research Leaders where her team is addressing structural racism, living in rural communities, and early childhood obesity. The overarching goal of her career is investigating and improving sexual and reproductive health for communities of color.
