Third- and fourth-year medical students from the University of Alabama School of Medicine, headquartered in Birmingham, receive their clinical training at the College, which also functions as the Tuscaloosa Regional Campus for UASOM.
The College’s Family Medicine Residency is one of the largest and most successful residencies in the southeast. It’s the only residency at the 658-bed community hospital that is the referral hospital for West Alabama.
The teaching and supervision of family medicine residents is primarily the responsibility of the College’s large, full-time faculty. During the three-year residency, the faculty oversee resident training in both hospital and ambulatory care.
We want residents to experience the camaraderie and community that can only be found at The University of Alabama. Residents and their families enjoy countless benefits from being part of the UA family, and the Tuscaloosa area offers plenty of options for shopping, dining, outdoor adventure and family-friendly entertainment.
