The Dr. Sandral Hullett Endowed Scholarship was established in 1992 with gifts from the Capstone Health Services Foundation and proceeds from the 1991 Fiesta Bowl to honor Dr. Sandral Hullett, one of the first African-American residents to graduate from The University of Alabama Family Medicine Residency, which is operated by the UA College of Community Health Sciences.
Eligibility: University of Alabama School of Medicine students completing their third and fourth years of clinical education at the UA College of Community Health Sciences are eligible for this scholarship. Priority is given to black/African-American students, followed by students from other socially or economically disadvantaged groups. Further priority will be given to applicants whose training and career goals align most closely with the College’s mission of primary care.
Amount: $1,000 annually
