Education Programs
The College of Community Health Sciences welcomes University of Alabama undergraduates enrolled in the Community and Rural Medicine courses. In addition, CCHS accepts third and fourth year medical students from the University of Alabama’s School of Medicine for their clinical years. One of the oldest family medicine residency programs in the southeast, the Family Medicine Residency also welcomes its residents into its three-year program every summer. For the medical community in this area, CCHS regularly offers CME events. Patients, healthcare professionals as well as other professionals are welcomed to take advantage of the Health Sciences Library, which boasts access to thousands of biomedical journals as well as many other resources.

Internal Medicine The Department of Internal Medicine is one of seven medicine departments at CCHS. The department is involved in patient care through its outpatient clinic as part of the University Medical Center, its inpatient care at DCH, as well as academics. |
