Largest class graduates from population health sciences program 

Nine students graduated from the College of Community Health Sciences with master’s degrees in population health sciences during The University of Alabama’s summer commencement on Aug. 2. It is the largest class to date to graduate from the graduate degree program. 

 Population health sciences is an interdisciplinary field that combines clinical care with public health practices to reduce, manage and prevent disease. The 30-credit-hour program trains students to address the health needs of diverse communities using data-driven strategies to improve health care. 

 The program is designed for health care professionals, administrators and researchers and can be completed in three semesters. Classes are offered in person and online and are taught by CCHS faculty with expertise in medicine, nursing, public health, psychology, health education, economics and health policy. 

 The graduates are: Cadi Atwell, Nicolette Bagoly, Matthew Bark, Amalia Halpin, Graham Jones, Daniel Mami, Trey Sheils, Mason Swain and Alyssa Thompson.
