Applications open for CCHS population health master’s program

The College of Community Health Sciences is accepting applications for its master’s program in population health sciences, a 30‑credit‑hour degree designed to prepare students to improve health outcomes across diverse communities.

The program, administered by the College’s Department of Community Medicine and Population Health, integrates clinical care and public health practices. Students learn to apply data‑driven approaches to prevent, reduce and manage disease while focusing on the needs of specific population groups.

Population health is an interdisciplinary field that uses those practices to prevent, reduce and manage human diseases. Students use patient-centered approaches to understand the needs of different population groups, with a particular focus on investigating health disparities.

Graduates of the 30-credit-hour program are trained to address the health needs of diverse communities and are equipped with data-driven strategies to help transform health care.

The degree program can be completed in three semesters. Classes are offered in-person and online and are led by CCHS faculty with backgrounds in medicine, nursing, public health, psychology, health education, economics and health policy.

Students interested in applying can do so here by April 15.
