From the CCHS Department of Translational Science and Medicine:
Several CCHS Translational Science and Medicine doctoral students will graduate from The University of Alabama on Saturday, Aug. 1, at Coleman Coliseum. The students are completing their doctoral studies through the Advanced Drug Delivery concentration of the Interdisciplinary Studies Ph.D. program, hosted by the UA Graduate School.
The program provides an interdisciplinary pathway for students whose research interests span multiple academic disciplines. Through their work in translational science and medicine, CCHS doctoral students engage in research focused on advancing scientific discoveries and translating them into improved health care and patient outcomes.
Drs. Richard Friend, dean of CCHS, M.N.V. Ravi Kumar, Distinguished University Research Professor, Meenakshi Arora, CCHS associate professor of biomedical sciences, and Raghu Ganugula, CCHS assistant professor of biomedical sciences, as well as CCHS Translational Science and Medicine doctoral student Swetha Allamreddy, co-authored “Sex-specific efficacy of curcumin-loaded nanoparticles and insulin for ocular-cardiac complications in type 2 diabetes mice,” in the iScience Journal.
