New Faculty 

Dr. Madison Peoples joined CCHS as an assistant professor in the Department of Family, Internal, and Rural Medicine. She also cares for patients as a family medicine physician at University Medical Center in Tuscaloosa, which CCHS operates. Peoples earned a master’s degree in rural community health from the College as a Rural Medical Scholar. She earned her medical degree from the UAB Heersink School of Medicine in Birmingham, Ala., and completed her residency at The University of Alabama Tuscaloosa Family Medicine Residency Program, which is operated by CCHS. 

Dr. Stephanie Smith joined CCHS as an assistant professor in two departments – the Department of Family, Internal, and Rural Medicine and the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine. She also cares for patients as a family medicine and behavioral health physician at University Medical Center in Tuscaloosa, which CCHS operates. Smith earned her medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Suwanee, Ga. She completed her residency at the East Tennessee State University Quillen College of Medicine – Johnson City Family Medicine Residency Program. Smith completed a behavioral health fellowship at CCHS.  

Dr. Victoria Smith joined CCHS as an assistant professor in the Department of Family, Internal, and Rural Medicine. She also cares for patients as a family medicine physician at University Medical Center in Tuscaloosa, which is operated by CCHS. Smith earned her medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine in Sint Maarten and completed her residency at The University of Alabama Tuscaloosa Family Medicine Residency Program, which is the College operates.  

Dr. Andy Thomas joined CCHS as an assistant professor in the Department of Family, Internal, and Rural Medicine. He also cares for patients as a family medicine physician at University Medical Center in Tuscaloosa, which is operated by the College. Thomas earned his medical degree from the UAB Heersink School of Medicine in Birmingham, Ala., and completed his residency at The University of Alabama Tuscaloosa Family Medicine Residency Program, which CCHS operates.
