Drake Lavender, MD — Director of Rural Programs, Associate Professor

Dr. Paul Drake Lavender is associate professor of family, internal, and rural medicine and director of Rural Programs at the College. Lavender earned his medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine, and completed his residency training, also serving as chief resident, at The University of Alabama Family Medicine Residency, which the College operates.Prior to joining the College in 2013, Lavender has been in private practice in Gordo, Alabama, since 2004.

Board certified in family medicine, Lavender has expertise is in colonoscopies and EGDs. In addition to those surgical procedures, Lavender also attends clinic at University Medical Center and is an attendee at DCH Regional Medical Center.
