Drake Lavender, MD
Director of Rural Programs, Associate Professor
Dr. Paul Drake Lavender is an associate professor in the Department of Family, Internal, and Rural Medicine at the College of Community Health Sciences. He is also director of Rural Programs at the College. Lavender earned his medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham, and completed his residency training, also serving as chief resident, at The University of Alabama Tuscaloosa Family Medicine Residency Program, which the College operates.Prior to joining the College in 2013, Lavender had been in private practice in Gordo, Ala., since 2004.
Board certified in family medicine, Lavender has expertise is in colonoscopies and EGDs. In addition to those surgical procedures, Lavender also attends clinic at University Medical Center and is an attendee at DCH Regional Medical Center.
