Dr. Robert Slaughter received his undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn., in 1980. He received his medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham in 1985. He completed residency training in neurology in 1989, serving as chief resident at the UA School of Medicine. He was certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in 1994. He previously served as director of the Neurology Residency at the UA School of Medicine, medical director of the UAB Stroke Service and medical director for Neurology at the Kirklin Clinic in Birmingham. Slaughter is an associate professor at CCHS and also practices with Capstone Hospitalist Group. He has 34 years of experience. Physicians with Capstone Hospitalist Group, which is operated by CCHS, care for patients at DCH Regional Medical Center and Northport Medical Center.
