James Robinson, MD, is professor of Family Medicine and endowed chair of Sports Medicine for the College of Community Health Sciences. He is also director of the College’s Sports Medicine Fellowship.
Robinson serves as the head team physician for The University of Alabama and has cared for athletes of all ages and skill levels for the past 28 years in Tuscaloosa. He works with high school, collegiate, professional and international athletes. He served as a team physician for the United States Olympic Team in 2000 in Sydney, Australia.
Robinson received his bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University and his medical degree from LSU in New Orleans. He completed his residency at The University of Alabama Tuscaloosa Family Medicine Residency Program and a fellowship in primary care sports medicine at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio.
Robinson has served as a member of the teaching faculty at University Medical Center, which CCHS operates, since 1989. He teaches residents and medical students the art of being a team physician and a family physician.(205) 348-4804 firstname.lastname@example.org
