Suzanne Henson, RD, LD
Registered Dietitian
Suzanne Henson is an assistant professor in the Department of Family, Internal, and Rural Medicine at the College of Community Health Sciences and a registered dietitian at University Medical Center, which the College operates. She is responsible for the education, coordination and provision of nutritional guidance to patients, and assists patients in the promotion of their health. Previously, Henson worked as a clinical health coach with Atherotech Diagnostics Labs in Birmingham. Before that, she served as assistant director of Health Education and Promotion for UA’s Student Health Center and Pharmacy and was director of UAB EatRight Weight Management Services. Henson was named Outstanding Dietitian of the Year in 2015 by the Alabama Dietetic Association. She has a master’s degree in human nutrition and a bachelor’s degree in journalism, both from The University of Alabama.
