Tameka Hairston, MD, is a PGY-1 at The University of Alabama Family Medicine Residency.
Hairston, who is from Pachuta, Mississippi, received a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from Mississippi State University in Starkville. She received her medical degree from the University of Mississippi in Jackson. She has a special interest in rural and underserved populations, sports medicine, emergency medicine and outpatient procedures.
After residency, Hariston plans to practice outpatient family and sports medicine and provide assistance in emergency medicine in rural areas.
