Cheree Melton, MD
Assistant Professor
Dr. Cheree Melton is an assistant professor in the Department of Family, Internal, and Rural Medicine at the College of Community Health Sciences. She teaches and supervises the College’s family medicine residents, medical students and clinical learners. She also cares for patients at University Medical Center clinics in Northport, Ala., and Fayette, Ala. CCHS operates UMC. Melton earned a bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Mobile in Mobile, Ala. She received her medical degree from the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Spartanburg, S.C. She completed her residency training at The University of Alabama Tuscaloosa Family Medicine Residency Program, which is operated by the College, as well as a fellowship in obstetrics at the College. She has special interests in adolescent female health, obstetrics and long-acting reversible contraception.
