Jacquelynn Luker, MD

Assistant Professor, Assistant Residency Director, Associate Director Rural Programs


Dr. Jacquelynn Luker is an assistant professor in the Department of Family, Internal, and Rural Medicine at the College of Community Health Sciences. She is assistant director for Professionalism and Student Engagement with The University of Alabama Tuscaloosa Family Medicine Residency Program, which the College operates, and she is associate director of CCHS Rural Programs. She also cares for patients at University Medical Center, which is operated by the College. Luker completed her undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences at UA. As a Rural Medical Scholar at UA, she completed her master’s degree in Human Environmental Sciences/Rural Community Health. She earned her medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham and completed her residency training at the UA Tuscaloosa Family Medicine Residency. She also completed a geriatrics fellowship at the College. Luker has special interests in rural medicine, geriatrics, end-of-life care and hospice care.
