Assistant Professor, Assistant Residency Director
Dr. Russ Guin is an assistant professor in the Department of Family, Internal, and Rural Medicine at the College of Community Health Sciences. He is assistant director for Patient Safety, OSCEs and Community Preceptor Engagement with The University of Alabama Tuscaloosa Family Medicine Residency Program, which is operated by CCHS. He also cares for patients at University Medical Center’s Family Medicine Clinic and Dr. Bill deShazo Sports Medicine Center. The College operates UMC. Guin received his bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences from UA. He received his medical degree from the UA School of Medicine and completed his residency at the UA Tuscaloosa Family Medicine Residency Program, which is operated by the College. After residency, Guin completed a Sports Medicine Fellowship at CCHS. The fellowship provides sports medicine education, training and certification to family medicine physicians.
