Shawnna Ogden, MD — Behavioral Health Fellow

Dr. Shawnna Ogden is a behavioral health fellow at the College of Community Health Sciences and cares for patients at University Medical Center, which the College operates. The Behavioral Health Fellowship trains family medicine physicians, particularly those planning to practice in rural communities, to better care for patients with mental health and psychiatric concerns. Ogden received a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge and a master’s degree in biomedical science from Barry University in Miami Shores, Florida. She received her medical degree from St. George’s University in Grenada, West Indies, and completed her family medicine residency training at LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport. As a resident, Ogden was awarded the Family Medicine Resident Award for Advocacy for persistent efforts to represent family medicine at a state level.
