LaKeshia Whigham — Program Coordinator

LaKeshia Whigham is the Program Coordinator for Rural Programs at the College of Community Health Sciences. She assists with the recruitment of students for the Rural Community Health Scholars and Rural Medical Scholars Programs and oversees the Tuscaloosa Rural Pre-medical Internship. Whigham received a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from The University of Alabama. Prior to entering the University, Whigham participated in the Rural Health Scholars, Rural Science Scholars and Rural Minority Health Scholars Programs at UA and later served as a counselor for each program. While attending UA, she served as a mentor to the inaugural class in the Emerging Scholars Program. Whigham received a certificate of recognition from the Alabama Governor’s Office in 2008 and 2009 for her assistance with the College's Black Belt Health Scholars Program.
