Dr. Yuhui Yao is an assistant professor in the Department of Community Medicine and Population Health and the Institute for Rural Health Research at the college of Community Health Sciences. His research interests focus on anomaly detection, statistical process monitoring, longitudinal analysis and nonparametric statistics. He was previously a postdoc fellow in the Institute of Data and Analytics at the Culverhouse College of Business and worked on statistical applications in healthcare-related risk management, subdivision-based opioid abuse detection and steel production. Dr. Yao received doctoral and Master's degrees in Applied Statistics from the University of Alabama in 2020 and 2016, respectively, and earned a Bachelor's degree in Statistics from Guangdong University of Technology, Guangzhou, China, in 2011. Before joining his graduate program, he served as a data analyst for different companies in many industries including telecommunication and bank.
