Raghu Ganugula, PhD — Assistant Professor

Dr. Raghu Ganugula is assistant professor of Biomedical Sciences with the College of Community Health Sciences and a research scientist with The University of Alabama Center for Convergent Bioscience & Medicine. His research focus is in vitro and in vivo pharmacology testing of novel bioactives and dosage forms, and he has developed various biochemical and cell-based functional assays. In addition, Ganugula has used various in vivo models to further test the efficacy of the bioactives or their dosage forms on obesity, diabetes, retinopathy, nephropathy, cataracts and cancer. He has more than 12 years of professional experience in multidisciplinary research with more than 20 peer-reviewed research publications and five patents pending. He worked previously as assistant professor and research scientist at Texas A&M University. Ganugula earned a PhD in Biotechnology from Acharya Nagarjuna University in India and had four years postdoctoral research experience at NIN in Hyderabad, India.
