Mallory Scogin, MD, MPH, FACOG
Assistant Professor
Dr. Mallory Scogin is an assistant professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the College of Community Health Sciences and a practicing physician at University Medical Center, which is operated by the College.
Scogin received a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences from The University of Alabama and a Master of Public Health degree in Health Care Organization and Policy from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She earned her medical degree at the University of Alabama School of Medicine.
Scogin completed her residency at the University at Buffalo in Buffalo, N.Y., where she served as Health and Wellness Chief Resident and head of the resident mentoring program in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. After graduating from residency, she spent three years in private practice before transitioning to academic medicine. She is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
Scogin co-authored “Assessing health-related quality of life in children with spina bifida,” published in the Journal of Neurosurgery: Pediatrics in 2015. She was the 2019 recipient of the Kent Crickard MD Award in recognition of knowledge and commitment to continued education in the field of reproductive medicine.
