Dr. Pamela Payne-Foster, professor of community medicine and population health with CCHS, co-authored two articles —”Church leaders share and implement solution-focused health strategies during the COVID-19 pandemic in rural Alabama” and “HIV Knowledge, Risk Factors, and Utilization of Services in the US Rural Deep South”— both published in the Journal of Racial and Ethnic Health Disparities. Payne-Foster also co-authored “Providers’ Perspectives on Patient Health Literacy in the Rural Deep South”, which will be published in the Online Journal of Rural Nursing and Health Care, Volume 23.

• Best Resident Educator: Dr. Josh Washington, resident with UA’s Tuscaloosa Family Medicine Residency Program, operated by CCHS.
• Best Clinical Department: Pediatrics
