Brussels Sprout Challenge

The 6th annual Brussels Sprout Challenge will take place during the American Heart Association West Alabama Heart Walk on Saturday, March 7, 2020. Activities and AHA Walk registration will begin at 8:00 a.m. at the Tuscaloosa Amphitheater and the walk begins at 9:00 a.m.

To complete the Brussels Sprout Challenge, participants must collect all 3 stickers by eating one roasted Brussels Sprout at each mile marker of the 3.1-mile walk. Show us your 3 stickers at the Brussels Sprout Challenge tent and get a free prize!

To participate in the challenge, register for the American Heart Association West Alabama Heart Walk by clicking here. Be sure to visit our booth before the walk and challenge to get a fun face tattoo of our mascot Russell Brussel!

You will also receive handouts about the health benefits of Brussels Sprouts, which include heart health and cancer protection, as well as Brussels Sprout recipes.

The goal of the Brussels Sprout Challenge is to offer a challenge that promotes healthy lifestyle choices – a healthy diet and exercise – while complementing the American Heart Association’s mission to build healthier lives free of heart disease and stroke.
