Dr. Karen Burgess, associate professor and chair of pediatrics for the College of Community Health Sciences, has been named executive director of The University of Alabama Student Health Center. She will also continue in her current role at CCHS as chair of the Department of Pediatrics. Burgess, who is also a practicing pediatrician at University Medical Center, which the College operates, has years of clinical and administrative experience. She replaces Margaret Garner, who retired as SCH executive director September 1.
