The College of Community Health Sciences was recognized at the 2019 Adopt-A-School Kickoff Luncheon July 31 with a special award for its work with Tuscaloosa Magnet Elementary School and Tuscaloosa Magnet Middle School.
The event at the Bryant Conference Center on The University of Alabama campus honored all current Adopt-A-School partnerships, and special awards were also presented. The Adopt-A-School program is an initiative of the Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama.
The College received two Decade of Excellence Awards. CCHS has partnered with the two magnet schools for a number of years. Erin Tech, assistant director of External Relations for CCHS, directs the College’s work with the schools.
The luncheon also included a keynote address by Tommy Glasscock, assistant state superintendent of Education, Career and Technical Education/Workforce Development Division. More than 400 people attended.
