Kirsten Henry, MBA — FIRM Administrative Director

Kirsten D. Henry, MBA is the Family, Internal and Rural Medicine (FIRM) Administrative Director and College of Community Health Sciences (CCHS) Vice-Chair for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee at the University of Alabama. She comes to the University from a tenured work history at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, in Houston, Texas, where she led the 2nd largest center in the institution with focus areas on cancer prevention and research.

Currently, she has the privilege of continuing her work in healthcare alongside multi-disciplinary teams within the College of Community Health Sciences under the auspices of family and rural medicine. She is largely responsible for providing senior healthcare administrative leadership to the department, academic and clinical divisions, and The University of Alabama Family Residency program. She administers all business related activities including financial management, clinical operations management, personnel management, clinical research management, clinical practice analysis, and other activities. She also acts as a liaison between internal college academic departments and units, institutional affiliated departments as well as enterprise services and external partners, including hospitals, federally qualified health centers (FQHCs), community physicians/providers, as well as local and national government agencies.

When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, hot yoga, and listening to jazz.
