24 weeks of Immersion Block
Students spend a four- or eight-week block of time immersed in one clinical department, working with faculty preceptors and other medical students. They rotate through five different blocks in total during this part of the year.
- Relate Sessions: once a week at noon
- Family Medicine Continuity Clinic: one half-day afternoon/week
24 week-long Integrated Block
Students spend each day working with longitudinal faculty preceptors from the different clerkship disciplines and alongside other medical students. In general, students have one primary preceptor in each discipline, but they also have the opportunity to work with other faculty during elective experiences, when the preceptor is on vacation or away from clinic for other reasons, and through other educational experiences throughout the year.
