Dr. Russ Guin is a family medicine physician and will care for patients in UMC’s Family Medicine Clinic and Sports Medicine Clinic. Guin received a bachelor’s degree in health sciences from The University of Alabama. He received his medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine and completed his residency training at The University of Alabama Tuscaloosa Family Medicine Residency Program. After residency, Guin completed a sports medicine fellowship at the UA College of Community Health Sciences, which operates UMC. The fellowship offers sports medicine education, training and certification to family medicine physicians. Guin will also serve as an assistant professor of family, internal, and rural medicine for CCHS.

Dr. Shawnna Ogden is a family medicine physician and will care for patients in UMC’s Family Medicine Clinic and the Betty Shirley/Psychiatry Clinic. Ogden received a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge and a master’s degree in biomedical science from Barry University in Miami Shores, Florida. She received her medical degree from St. George’s University in Grenada, West Indies, and completed her family medicine residency training at LSU Health Sciences Center’s Family Medicine Residency in Monroe, Louisiana. As a resident, Ogden was awarded the Family Medicine Resident Award for Advocacy for persistent efforts to represent family medicine at a state level. After residency, Ogden completed a behavioral health fellowship at CCHS. The fellowships trains family medicine physicians to better care for patients with mental health and psychiatric concerns. Ogden will also serve as an assistant professor of family, internal, and rural medicine for CCHS.
