University Medical Center launched a new Patient Portal in May that provides additional and enhanced online services to its patients.
With the new Patient Portal, UMC patients can view and manage appointments, more easily review prescriptions and request refills, complete paperwork prior to appointments and message securely with their provider and care team.
A patient portal is a secure online website that gives patients convenient, 24/7 access to personal health information from any location with an internet connection. Using a secure username and password, patients can access and view their health information online, and can email their health-care provider questions through the portal.
University Medical Center provides care in family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, psychiatry and behavioral medicine, sports medicine, neurology, endocrinology and geriatrics. UMC also cares for hospitalized patients at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa and Northport Medical Center through its Capstone Hospitalist Group. UMC had more than 155,000 patient visits in 2021.
UMC, which is operated by The University of Alabama College of Community Health Sciences, is the largest multi-specialty medical practice in West Alabama with locations in Tuscaloosa, Northport, Demopolis, Fayette and Carrollton.
