Anne Halli-Tierney, MD, has joined The University of Alabama College of Community Health Sciences as an assistant professor in the Department of Family Medicine. She sees patients and instructs residents in the Family Medicine Clinic and Geriatrics Clinic.

Halli-Tierney graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in English from Boston College. She earned her medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine, completing her last two years of clinical training at the College, which also functions as the Tuscaloosa Regional Campus for the School of Medicine, headquartered in Birmingham. While a medical student, she received the College’s Outstanding Research Award and was an American Federation of Aging Research Scholar.

Halli-Tierney completed a residency in general internal medicine at the Alpert School of Medicine at Brown University in Providence, R.I. She also completed a clinical geriatrics fellowship and an advanced geriatrics fellowship at the Alpert School of Medicine. Prior to joining the College, Halli-Tierney was an assistant clinical instructor at the Alpert School of Medicine.
