Dr. Kate Sweeney is a resident with The University of Alabama Tuscaloosa Family Medicine Residency Program, which is operated by the College of Community Health Sciences.

Sweeney, who is from Chapel Hill, N.C., received a bachelor’s degree in global studies with a focus on Western Europe from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, and a master’s degree in public health from Touro University in Vallejo, Calif. She received a medical degree from Touro University – Nevada College of Osteopathic Medicine in Henderson. Sweeney has a special interest in procedures, rural medicine, wilderness medicine and women’s health.

After residency, Sweeney plans to practice full-spectrum family medicine in an underserved area.
