Share The Global Health Curriculum

May 6, 2019

In the interest of promoting international medical education, the College of Community Health Sciences (CCHS) at The University of Alabama provides opportunities for resident physicians to study and experience global health. A Global Health Curriculum is now part of the UA Family Medicine Residency, which is operated by CCHS.

UMC Doctors in Kenya

As part of the new curriculum, the College recently created a CCHS International Travel Fund to help alleviate the financial burden of travel costs, and to provide assistance with supplies and resources needed for these trips.

Last year, our residents and faculty made trips to Ghana, Haiti, and Kenya, and another team will make a return medical trip to Kenya July 11-22, 2019. We will again work with several Kenyan partners to provide medical care to the children and staff at the Seeds Academy and Children’s Home in Kitale, as well as to affiliated schools and food stations.

We humbly ask you, your practice, or your business to consider a tax-deductible gift to the CCHS International Travel Fund to help support our global medical education efforts in Kenya this year.

Please visit our convenient online giving option at give.ua.edu and search “CCHS International Travel Fund” to make your donation, or you may mail your donation to:
