Winters joins CCHS Board of Visitors

JacQuan Winters has joined the College of Community Health Sciences Board of Visitors, a volunteer board made up of alumni, donors, community physicians, businesspeople and other friends and supporters of CCHS. The board advises the College on long-range planning, assists the College in securing financial resources and helps develop opportunities for CCHS medical students and resident physicians.

Winters is executive director of the Kristen Amerson Youth Foundation Inc. in Tuscaloosa, a nonprofit organization he founded after the tragic suicide of his 11-year-old sister, Kristen. In the role, Winters helps develop impactful suicide prevention programs, spearheads youth development initiatives and oversees fundraising efforts.

He is a licensed realtor affiliated with Prichett-Moore Real Estate and holds the esteemed Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation. He serves on the Board of Directors for the West Alabama Chamber of Commerce and chairs the chamber’s Diverse Business Council. He is also a founding member and president of the Business Network International G.R.I.N.D. chapter.

With expertise in community engagement, community leadership and sales, Winters has received prestigious accolades that include the United Way’s West Alabama Young Leaders Award, Tuscaloosa’s 40 Under Forty, and the 2021 Tuscaloosa Association of REALTORS® Rookie of the Year Award. Additionally, he is also a published children’s author.

Winters received his bachelor’s degree in sociology and his master’s degree in education from the University of West Alabama in Livingston, Ala.
