Dr. Tamer Elsayed, interim chair of the Department of Family, Internal, and Rural Medicine with CCHS, received the Degree of Fellow from the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), a credential that recognizes the recipient’s commitment to family medicine through community work, research, teaching, professional development and organized medicine. Election as a fellow requires experience in life-long learning, (medical) practice quality and improvement, volunteer teaching, public service, publishing and research, and service to family medicine, as well as six years of AAFP membership.
Dr. Amelia de los Reyes, director of Quality Improvement and Clinic Health Informatics for the UA Student Health Center and Pharmacy, received the Champion of Learning Award from UA Human Resources and Learning Development. The award recognizes Reyes’s commitment and dedication to employee learning and organizational development. Champions of Learning are individuals or teams that encourage individual and organizational development year-round. The SHCP is operated by CCHS.
