FAMILY MEDICINE RESIDENCY
NOVEMBER 13-15, 2015
Thank you for joining us in celebrating 40 years of the Tuscaloosa Family Medicine Residency. We hope you enjoyed rekindling old friendships, reminiscing about your time here as a resident, and learning what the College of Community Health Sciences is doing today to grow the Residency and positively impact the state of Alabama and the Southeast.
During this weekend together, we looked back at the beginnings of the Residency and the College, both of which were started to address the dire need for family medicine physicians in Alabama and the region. We talked about what the Residency and College are accomplishing today—from growth and expansion to community outreach. And we concluded the weekend by hearing about the future of family medicine from Dr. Glen Stream, president of Family Medicine for America’s Health and former president of the American Academy of Family Physicians.
In between, we enjoyed a cocktail party at the Tuscaloosa Museum of Art, tours of the City of Tuscaloosa and The University of Alabama’s Athletic Facilities, a University of Alabama and Mississippi State Tailgate, and a Gala evening with dinner and dancing.
The Residency Reunion Weekend was a success because you were there to share this important occasion with us, your classmates, and alumni of the Residency. We hope you will continue to partner with us so that together we can work to further the mission of the Residency and improve and promote the health of individuals and communities in Alabama and the region.
