Congratulations to the 32 UAB Heersink School of Medicine students who completed their clinical education at the College of Community Health Sciences and will begin their specialty training this summer in residency programs across the country. CCHS provides the third and fourth years of medical school for a cohort of medical students in its role as a regional campus of the Heersink School of Medicine. Congratulations to the 16 soon-to-be medical school graduates selected for The University of Alabama Tuscaloosa Family Medicine Residency Program, which is operated by the College of Community Health Sciences. The residency, one of the oldest and largest family medicine residencies in the country, is a three-year program that provides specialty training for physicians in the practice of family medicine. The new residents will begin their education and training at CCHS in July.
